Jean Diver was born and raised in Greenville, Delaware. Diver started her artistic training in her high school years at the Mercersburg Academy, Mercersburg, Pennsylvania.  She continued through out college, graduating in graphic design at the Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as well as studying design and painting at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D.C.. Diver has been a full-time professional artist and designer for 20 years.
